Detective Steve Yahnke built his professional 25 year law-enforcement career as an Auxiliary Officer in Batavia, IL; Kane County Sheriff’s Deputy in Geneva, IL; Chief of Police in Maple Park, IL; as a Law Enforcement trainer, and now as a professional private detective. Detective Yahnke had a blessed career experiencing every aspect of law enforcement:

Detective Yahnke’s law enforcement career spanned over 25 years and he spent nearly 12 years as a Sheriff’s Sergeant. You can trust Detective Yahnke and his team of professionals to handle every situation, be it corporate, security, family, or of a more private nature.
College Instructor
In addition to his law enforcement career, Detective Yahnke was an adjunct faculty member of Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove, IL from 1998 - 2007. Detective Yahnke taught Commercial Security Operations to a host of security professionals, private detectives, law enforcement cadets, and police department applicants on a bi-annual basis. This class included criminal and civil law as it applies to private security, issues related to the appropriate use of force, security operations, weapon familiarization, weapon safety, and range operations.
Training Instructor
Detective Yahnke was also a regular Law Enforcement instructor with North-East Multi Regional Training (N.E.M.R.T.) Mobile Team 3 out of N. Aurora, IL for over 13 years. Detective Yahnke’s responsibilities with N.E.M.R.T. required him to be certified by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards board to teach and train police officers in the following areas of performance: Firearms Instruction, Judgment Pistol shooting, Law Enforcement Driving, Crimes in Progress, Building Search Tactics, Fundamentals of Investigations, Traffic Control, and Calls for Service.

Meet Our Main Staff
Clarence (Buz) Hodges is a US Army veteran and certified Concealed Carry Instructor. He spent over 35 years in law enforcement and was a certified range instructor for police.
Sharen Meyers is our Office Manager and has been with SPI since 2012. She spent over 20 years working for architects and construction managers before the bottom fell out in 2008/2009. Sharen does research, tracks documents out for process serve with our various Process Servers, does livescan/electronic fingerprinting, and handles the accounts payable/ receivable, payroll etc.
Maria Reyes is bi-lingual Spanish/English. She is a Research Specialist, Process Server, and does livescan/electronic or ink fingerprinting. Maria has been with SPI since the summer of 2016.
